International Conference "Beyond the Crisis: Sociology Facing New Forms of Risk, Uncertainty and Precarity"

The International Sociological Association (ISA), the Research Committee on Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change (RC48) of the ISA, and the Collective Identity Research Centre at the University of the Basque Country have joined forces to organize the International Conference "Beyond the Crisis: Sociology Facing New Forms of Risk, Uncertainty and Precarity." The conference will be celebrated in Bilbao (Spain), on March 12-13, 2013, and will coincide with the annual meeting of the ISA Executive Committee.

Second ISA Forum of Sociology - Conference Proceedings are almost ready!

We are happy to announce that the RC48 Conference Proceedings are almost ready! We received a record of 32 papers, in both Spanish and English. We would like to thank the authors for their intellectual contribution, and the Collective Identity Research Center (Department of Sociology 2, University of the Basque Country, Spain) for funding the publication. The Center has been the base of our Research Committee since 2010.

We are happy to announce the publication of the second issue of Grassroots, The Newsletter of the Research Committee on Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change (RC48) of the International Sociological Association. You can download the issue here.

 

Upcoming Current Sociology Monograph Issue!

We are proud to announce that our proposal for a Current Sociology monograph issue has been finally accepted! The monograph is entitled "Occupy Social Movements: A New Wave of Global Mobilization," and Tova Benski, Lauren Langman, Ignacia Perugorría and Benjamín Tejerina will be the guest editors.
